Working with different shades of the same color!

I went to the mall today and since it was a gloomy day out, I decided to go with the weather and wear gloomy colors. I chose the colors gray, black, and silver as a focus today, but I didn’t want to overpower the colors. 

To avoid this, I wore a shirt with a hint of black (there were little owls, butterflies, and birds… so cute!) and black leggings. As for gray, I wore two different shades of gray. The light gray shirt perfectly contrasts the dark gray cardigan.

Now for the silver additions. I figured silver blended in with the look very well, so I added silver rings, a silver necklace, and a sparkly silver headband (which would be perfect for New Years Eve!).

How to color coordinate your look!

Dolled and Proud

To create a perfectly matched outfit, I pick a couple colors as a theme and base every piece of the look off of those colors. Today, I chose burgundy and gold. 

My burgundy leggings match this necklace as it has a hint of burgundy on it. Also, I chose gold as it matches burgundy because it gives the look a warmer feel. 

Just so happened that I have a burgundy scarf that just completes the look! White goes with everything and I didn’t want to go overboard, so I wore a white long-sleeved shirt and a wintergreen jacket.

Even though Christmas has passed, it still feels like a fall day!

With autumn weather on this winter day, I decided to wear a cozy sweater to trap in the heat, but dressed up in autumn colors. Brown screams fall so I made my whole look based off of that color. Take a look below!

To go along with the brown theme, I added a brown purse and brown earrings that matched perfectly with my boots! Also, since it was a sunny day, I had to wear the Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Hope everyone’s Christmas is merry and bright!

You cannot be anymore in the Christmas spirit then with PJ’s detailed with little Christmas trees and reindeer (if you look closely there are even tiny penguins!). Also, even though the blue isn’t the “Christmas color”, the plaid surely gives that cozy, Christmas feel.
