Working with different shades of the same color!

I went to the mall today and since it was a gloomy day out, I decided to go with the weather and wear gloomy colors. I chose the colors gray, black, and silver as a focus today, but I didn’t want to overpower the colors. 

To avoid this, I wore a shirt with a hint of black (there were little owls, butterflies, and birds… so cute!) and black leggings. As for gray, I wore two different shades of gray. The light gray shirt perfectly contrasts the dark gray cardigan.

Now for the silver additions. I figured silver blended in with the look very well, so I added silver rings, a silver necklace, and a sparkly silver headband (which would be perfect for New Years Eve!).

How to color coordinate your look!

Dolled and Proud

To create a perfectly matched outfit, I pick a couple colors as a theme and base every piece of the look off of those colors. Today, I chose burgundy and gold. 

My burgundy leggings match this necklace as it has a hint of burgundy on it. Also, I chose gold as it matches burgundy because it gives the look a warmer feel. 

Just so happened that I have a burgundy scarf that just completes the look! White goes with everything and I didn’t want to go overboard, so I wore a white long-sleeved shirt and a wintergreen jacket.

Last mall day before Christmas! (I promise)

Okay, I know I go to the mall A LOT, but the Christmas decorations are just so eye- catching! For the Christmas spirit, I wore all red, white, and gold 🙂 The buttons on my red shirt matched the gold jewelry that I wore and the little gold jewels on my headband. Also, the white legwarmers went perfectly with the white headband. Love this look!
