Cheers to the New Year!

As 2017 comes to an end and 2018 approaches, old friendships fade and new friendships form, old adventures stay in your memories and new ones await to be explored. With this being said, resolutions need to be made to set goals for the new year. My resolution for 2017 was to be proactive and seek adventure (click here to view the entire post). Looking back, I can honestly say that I successfully did this. 2017 was definitely my most adventurous year. From crazy nights I’ll always remember, to testing my adrenaline limit skydiving, it had its ups and downs, but I finally feel like I’ve found my friends that are going to last a lifetime – you know who you are! As I’ve mentioned before, I struggle with a lot mentally, and this year truly tested my ability to handle myself in a mature manner. Although I still can act childish, I have grown into an independent young adult that is ready to take on the world and what 2018 is going to throw at me.

Also, I actually stuck to making the monthly A Year in the Life videos I wanted to! I highly recommend doing this as it’s an easy way to reminisce on the year as a whole. You see who came into your life, but didn’t stay for long, while also reminding yourself of who is genuinely there for you. Even if a month consists of people that you have no interaction with anymore, it is important to cherish the past as it makes you who you are today. It’s amazing how a little clip can bring back so many stories into your head that now will never be forgotten.

For 2018, I have two resolutions/goals I would like to accomplish to bring out the best version of me that I can be!

1. Be “classy, sassy, and a bit smart assy”

Yeah I know this is a cliché quote, but this is my entire vibe for this upcoming year. I am going to be more strong willed with my career path, my personal life, and with friendships. I am not going to let others get in my way. In 2017, I feel like I made myself available to others whenever they wanted me, but this year I am going to make my schedule and have people fit into mine. Anyone who is actually worth your time will put the effort into seeing you. In addition to this, I am going to keep things to myself. I am an open book in the sense where I share my thoughts and never hide my feelings, but I need to start responding to situations more positively and learn how to choose a few people to confide in. Doing this will make you seem more put together as well as mysterious and desirable when meeting someone new!

2.Take advantage of where I am

I am so lucky to be living in Boston for 4 years and I feel like I need to be more active in the city. Yes, I mean physically active like walking more, but I also need to explore all that Boston has to offer. With a quick Google search or just walking around, many locations and events can be found and who knows, maybe it’ll become my new “hot spot”! Also, In 2018, I am going to find more ways to make my own money. I want to take bartending classes and find production jobs around Boston. Wish me luck!

Lastly, 2017s resolution can’t just come to an end because the year is over! In 2018 I am going to keep on being proactive and keep on seeking adventure.

What’s your resolution for 2018?

Christine
